These terms cover the Gobblebug Android app and the website at gobblebug.com. By using either, you agree to them. They are a draft until the notice above is removed.

What Gobblebug is
Gobblebug is a learning app. It is not a qualification, a school, or a promise of a job. Lessons can be a good way to start. They are not a certificate, and they are not a substitute for the official Python documentation when something important depends on the answer.
The app is not released yet. What this website describes is the plan for the first version. Details may change before launch, and afterwards.
Who it is for
The app and the website are directed at adults. They are not directed at children under 13. Please do not use them for a child.
Accounts and progress
The first version has no account. Progress, points, lives, streaks, and shop items stay on your device. If you uninstall the app, reset the phone, or clear the app's storage, that progress is gone. We cannot restore it.
Points and lives have no cash value. They cannot be transferred, sold, or exchanged for money.
Price
The app is free to download and use at launch, and it does not show ads at launch. If we later charge for something optional, we will say so in the app before you pay.[Owner: only promise that the current lessons stay free if you mean to keep that promise.]
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break, probe, or disrupt the app or this website, or attempt to reach data that is not yours;
- copy the lessons, the mascot, or the name Gobblebug to build a competing product;
- use the app or the site for anything unlawful.
Learning from the lessons, and writing your own programs from what you learned, is the point, and is allowed. Code you write is yours.
Our content
The lessons, the name Gobblebug, the frog, and the design of the app and this website are ours. Please don't reproduce them as if they were yours.[Confirm who owns the copyright before publication.]
Python is a trademark of the Python Software Foundation. Gobblebug is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Python Software Foundation. Google Play is a trademark of Google LLC. We are not part of Google. When the listing opens, Google's own terms also apply to the download.
The website
The site is informational. A badge that says "Coming soon to Google Play" is not a download link until the listing exists. The sample question does not save a score and is not the app itself.
Disclaimer
The app and the website are provided as they are. We work to make the lessons accurate. We do not promise that every explanation is perfect, that the app will always be available, or that the service will be free of mistakes. A phone can lose the progress stored on it. We are not responsible for that loss.
Liability
Nothing in these terms removes or limits rights you have as a consumer that the law does not allow us to remove or limit. Aside from those rights, we are not liable for loss of progress stored on your device, or for decisions you make using a program you wrote while learning.

Changes
We may change, pause, or withdraw the app or this website. We may update these terms by posting a new version on this page with a new date. If a change is significant and the app can say so, we will mention it there too.
Law
These terms are meant to be read under the laws of [England and Wales — confirm before publication]. The courts of that place will hear disputes, except where the law gives you the right to bring a claim in the courts where you live, in which case you keep that right.
